Drape yourself in the timeless artistry of Madhubani — one of India's most celebrated folk painting traditions, hand-painted by skilled artisans from Bihar onto luxurious Kosa silk.

Each dupatta is a one-of-a-kind canvas, featuring intricate motifs drawn from nature, mythology, and village life — painted entirely by hand using natural dyes and fine brushwork. No two pieces are alike.

❖ Product Highlights

  • Fabric: Pure Kosa Silk — naturally lustrous, lightweight, and breathable
  • Art Form: Authentic Madhubani (Mithila) hand painting from Bihar
  • Technique: Hand-painted by master artisans using traditional motifs
  • Occasion: Festive wear, weddings, ethnic ensembles, gifting

❖ Washing & Ironing Instructions

  • Dry clean only — strongly recommended to preserve the hand-painted artwork and natural dyes
  • If hand washing is necessary, use cold water with a very mild, colour-safe detergent
  • Do not soak — limit immersion to under 2 minutes
  • Do not wring or twist — gently press out excess water and lay flat on a clean towel to dry in shade
  • Do not machine wash or tumble dry — agitation will damage the painted surface
  • Dry in shade — avoid direct sunlight, which can fade natural dyes over time
  • Ironing: Iron on the reverse side only on a low / silk setting
  • Place a thin cotton cloth between the iron and the dupatta — never iron directly on the painted surface
  • Do not use steam on the painted areas
  • Avoid contact with perfume, deodorant, or harsh chemicals on the painted area

❖ Storage

  • Store folded in a muslin cloth to protect the artwork
  • Keep away from direct sunlight for extended periods

❖ About Madhubani Art

Originating in the Mithila region of Bihar, Madhubani painting is a 2,500-year-old art form traditionally created by women on the walls of their homes. Recognised with a GI (Geographical Indication) tag, it is known for its bold lines, vibrant colours, and symbolic imagery drawn from Hindu epics, nature, and daily life.
